Denture Cleaning Tips

Your dentures require cleaning and TLC just like regular teeth! With proper care and cleaning, you can ensure your dentures look their best and last as long as possible.

Here are some tips for keeping your dentures clean:

  • Remove your dentures and run them under clean water.
  • Use a mild soap or denture cleaning fluid with a denture brush or soft toothbrush to gently brush the dentures and remove any stuck food particles. Be sure to only use approved denture cleaners as other options can be damaging to your dentures.
  • Rinse your dentures well after cleaning them and before returning them to your mouth.
  • When your dentures are out of your mouth, gently clean your gums and any remaining natural teeth with a soft toothbrush and fluoridated toothpaste. If this is painful, try using a washcloth wrapped around your finger instead.

FAQs

What do Denturists do?

Denturists are dental health care professionals who provide denture care to the public. They perform patient examinations and help people who are missing some or all of their teeth find a solution with Partial Dentures, Full Dentures, Denture Implants, and other Denture Services. In addition to Denture Repairs and Relines, they also fabricate dentures and provide a number of other denture-related services.

Is a Denturist a doctor?

No, Denturists are not doctors. They are independent and self-regulated dental health professionals who work with other dental health care providers (including dentists and oral surgeons) to provide comprehensive dental care.
